Julie's athletic career started with swimming. She was a competitive swimmer for many years until the age of 19, training up to ten times per week. She first started CrossFit in the summer of 2015, when she had been trying to stay in shape at regular gym since she stopped swimming. What really captured her was the intensity and diversity of the sport. She is very competitive in nature and she quickly learned that she loved to compete in CrossFit and needed the competitive element. Things escalated from there and she came close to qualifying for Europe Regionals in 2018 which fueled her motivation even further. She became National Champion of Denmark twice last year in the 2019 and in the 2020 Open. She went to the CrossFit Games for the first time in 2019 and is excited for her second trip in 2020.
She graduated medical school from the University of Southern Denmark in the summer of 2019. She now works part time as a M.D, trying to balance work and training to the best of her abilities. She dreams of working as a General Practitioner, but with the endless possibilities in medicine that could still change, her goal is to keep improving and be competitive amongst the best in the world, while also staying fit and healthy throughout her life and hopefully motivating others to do the same.
